Lead time

The lead time for turn-key boats depends on the current waiting list. Assuming we can begin your boat right away the lead time for a complete boat will be around 8 weeks.  Be sure to ask about complete custom boats that are already completed, there may be something that suits your needs already done.

Steering kits, intakes etc typically take less than 2 weeks to be made & shipped. This depends on stock levels at WattsCraft & our suppliers.

We try to maintain an inventory of the most popular kits, parts, and pieces.  If not in stock aluminium kit-sets typically take aproximately 3 weeks to cut & fold.

Kit-set instructions & compatibility

We provide full email & phone support for the construction of the hull. All hull kits include instructions with photographs.

We also provide photographs, support & instructions as required for installation of other kit-set items we sell.

Please get in touch if you have questions regarding the compatibility of your preferred engine & pump with the kit-set parts.  We do keep an inventory of used donor skis, as well as used and re-manufactured engine and jet pump packages.

We do not provide full instructions to fully finish & fit out your boat. Some problem solving is always required when fitting your chosen engine & pump. We are happy to give advice if it is a combination we have experience with.

Kit-set build complexity & difficultly

We rate our kit-set items on complexity to build/install. The rating scale is relative to aluminium fabrication in general.

The CNC cut & folded kits make building a boat much easier. However, basic experience in metal fabrication and mechanical aptitude is certainly required for all kit-set items and our hull construction instructions assume a certain level of knowledge.

Aluminium welding skills and suitable welder(s) are required for most kits. Hulls can be primarily MIG welded but TIG welding is preferable for some parts e.g. attaching handrails

Its is the customers responsibility to ensure they have the required skills to build a functional safe boat. We are very happy to discuss what involved & your equipment before you commit to purchasing a kit.

Shipping or pick-up

WattsCraft aluminium kit-sets are CNC cut & folded.  Kit-set products are sent via courier or freight. Freight will be calculated for each order. Pick-up can be arranged.

Folded kit-set hulls can be picked-up on a medium/large trailer or flat deck truck. Bring a lot of packing material and at least two good tie-downs to ensure the load is secure. Pick-up is required within one week of kit completion.
